Why?

Your body has stored information in the form of emotions, thoughts, memories, and somatic (physical) reactions since the womb. Studies have shown that when our mind-body finds a situation highly distressing or even traumatizing, and we are not supported emotionally in processing the experience, the nervous system may remain dysregulated.
